Angels Unaware

Statement of Faith

Our Name

“Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. Remembering them that are in bonds, as bound with them: and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.” Heb. 13:2, 3.

Started in 1973 by families with Developmentally Disabled children, Angels Unaware, Inc. has continued to assist families and individuals that have severe intellectual challenges. Currently we have 8 group homes and a supported living program serving the needs of 50 individuals.

Our Foundation

We believe that there is only one God, who is infinitely perfect, the Creator, Preserver, and Governor of all things, and who is the only proper object of religious worship. We believe there are three persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, undivided in essence and co-equal in power and glory.

We believe in the sanctity of all life, the immortality of the soul, the resurrection of the body, in the general judgment at the end of the world, the eternal happiness of the righteous, and the punishment of the wicked.

We believe in serving and offering fellowship, support, and counsel to all persons and families that are living with Developmental Disabilities, regardless of age, race, religion, station in life, or handicap. We believe that all persons with or without a disability have a specific God ordained purpose on this earth. We believe that as a country founded on Christian beliefs and morals we have a special obligation to the disabled, widows, and orphans.

We believe that God is the Author and Finisher of all life and that taking of any human life for the purpose of “showing mercy”, or “research” regardless of age, physical condition, or mental capacity, is not acceptable to us or pleasing to God.

We believe the Bible, including the Old and New Testaments, is divinely inspired and inerrant Word of God and the sole authority and written guide for life. We believe that salvation is a gift of grace from God, received through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe and support the local churches, as an organized assembly of believers, united in faith, and fellowship, observing the ordinances of the Bible, and that Christ is the head of the church.
